Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing it with butter or non-stick spray and lightly dusting it with flour.
  2. In a large bowl, mash 2-3 very ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Add granulated sugar, sour cream, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Whisk until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. If using, fold in chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  8. Let the brownies cool in the pan on a wire rack.
