- Sauté the onions by melting a tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced yellow onions and stir frequently, cooking for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix ingredients in a large bowl: combine sautéed onions, ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in the crockpot.
- Pour low-sodium beef broth around the meatloaf in the crockpot.
