Step 1: Preheat Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing it.
Step 2: Mash Bananas
- Mash 2–3 very ripe bananas in a bowl until smooth.
Step 3: Combine Wet Ingredients
- Stir melted unsalted butter, granulated sugar, sour cream, eggs, and vanilla extract into the mashed bananas until smooth.
Step 4: Mix Dry Ingredients
- Whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
Step 5: Combine Mixtures
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Step 6: Add Optional Ingredients
- Fold in any chopped walnuts or chocolate chips.
Step 7: Bake
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes.
Step 8: Cool & Frost
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Step 9: Slice & Serve
- Cut the brownies into squares and serve.
