  • 1 cup Pepperoni can be replaced with turkey pepperoni or omitted
Cheese Layers
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese main cheese for melty texture
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese optional but enhances flavor
Pie Base
  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce add moisture and flavor
  • 1 piece Pie Dough store-bought is convenient, homemade is ideal
For Cooking
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil any cooking oil can be used

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and press the pie dough into a deep-dish pan. Prick the bottom with a fork and pre-bake for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté the ground beef and sausage for 7-10 minutes, until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Spread pizza sauce over the pre-baked crust, layer mozzarella cheese, add sautéed meats, another layer of sauce, cheese, and top with pepperoni and Parmesan.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
  5. Allow to cool for about 5-10 minutes, slice, and serve warm.
