Step‑by‑Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a deep 9-inch pie dish to ensure your pie releases easily after baking.
- Roll out your pie crust on a lightly floured surface and fit it snugly into the prepared pie dish. Prick the bottom with a fork and blind-bake for about 7-8 minutes until slightly golden.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and Italian sausage. Break apart as it cooks, browning for about 5-7 minutes until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
- Lower the heat to medium and add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they soften. Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste, stirring to create a thick mixture. Simmer on low for about 5 minutes.
- Spread a layer of meat mixture over the pre-baked crust. Add pepperoni slices, followed by shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
- Place the assembled pie in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
- Slice your pie into wedges and serve warm.
