Ingredients

For the Crust
  • 1 package Crescent Rolls Let sit at room temperature before unrolling for easy handling.
For the Filling
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Make sure it's fully cooked and drained to avoid excess grease.
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning Feel free to use homemade for extra freshness.
  • 1 cup Refried Beans Black beans are a great substitution for a lighter option.
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Ensure it’s softened for easy spreading.
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Greek yogurt makes for a healthy alternative!
  • 2 medium Roma Tomatoes Diced cherry tomatoes can be a tasty variation.
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Jack Cheese Mozzarella or dairy-free options work well too.
  • 2 cups Shredded Lettuce Can be omitted for a lower-carb version.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • skillet
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Mixing Bowl
  • spatula

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather your baking sheet and line it with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent rolls and place them on the baking sheet, pinching the seams to form a solid crust base.
  3. Bake the crust for 11-13 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. Remove the crust from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes.
  5. While the crust cools, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the ground beef for 6-8 minutes until browned, then drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning.
  6. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sour cream, and salsa until smooth.
  7. Spread the creamy mixture over the cooled crust, layer with ground beef, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese, then top with lettuce.
  8. Slice into squares and serve warm.
