For the Filling

  • 2 cups Cheese Cheddar is perfect; consider mixing varieties.
  • 1 Vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, onions) Add your favorites or skip to suit picky eaters.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Adjust to taste.
For the Crust
  • 1 package Fluffy Crust (pastry dough) Store-bought for simplicity or homemade.

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • oven-safe skillet or pie dish
  • Rolling Pin

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add 1 pound of ground beef and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat, then stir in chopped vegetables and seasonings. Cook until veggies are softened, about 3–4 minutes, and set aside.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out pastry dough to fit an oven-safe skillet or pie dish. Press the dough into the pan and trim excess dough, leaving some to seal after adding filling.
  3. Spread the cooked ground beef and vegetable mixture over the prepared base. Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese on top. If desired, add another layer of dough and seal the edges.
  4. Place the assembled pie in the preheated oven and bake for 30–35 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is melted.
  5. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve warm.
