Step-by-Step Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 2-3 minutes shy of package instructions.
- While the spaghetti is cooking, heat 1/4 cup of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
- Once garlic is softened, season with salt and red pepper flakes. Cook for 3-4 more minutes until golden brown.
- Before draining spaghetti, scoop out 1 cup of pasta water. Drain spaghetti and add it to garlic mixture in the skillet. Pour in 1/2 cup of reserved pasta water.
- Let spaghetti simmer in the garlic oil for 2-3 minutes, tossing with chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately, topped with crushed red pepper and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
