  • 1 small Onion Diced
  • 2 large Eggs Beaten
  • 1/2 cup Dry Red Wine Optional
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Or lean ground turkey
  • 1 lb Ground Pork Or substitute with ground turkey
  • 8 slices Deli Ham Sliced
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese For stuffing
  • 1/2 cup Tomato Sauce For topping

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine bread crumbs, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, basil, oregano, sage, salt, pepper, minced garlic, and diced onion.
  3. Add ground beef, ground pork, beaten eggs, and dry red wine to the mixture and combine gently.
  4. Lay wax paper on a clean surface and pat the meat mixture into a rectangular shape, about ¾ inch thick.
  5. Layer deli ham slices over the meat mixture and sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.
  6. Roll the meat mixture into a tight loaf using the wax paper for guidance, sealing the edges well.
  7. Transfer the rolled meatloaf seam-side down onto a baking pan lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for about 70 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  9. Spread heated tomato sauce over the top and sprinkle any remaining mozzarella, then return to the oven for another 5 minutes.
  10. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
