For Garnishing
  • 2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Seeds Optional but highly recommended.
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onions Easily omitted if unavailable.

Equipment

  • Crock Pot

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Set it aside to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Spray the inside of your crock pot with non-stick cooking spray. Place the chicken thighs in a single layer inside the crock pot.
  3. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken, ensuring each piece is generously coated. Cover the crock pot with the lid.
  4. Set your crock pot to low and cook for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and can easily be shredded.
  5. Create a cornstarch slurry by mixing cornstarch with a small amount of water and stir this into the crock pot to thicken the sauce.
  6. Serve your sesame chicken, drizzling some of the sauce over the top and garnishing with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
