Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by rinsing and patting the chicken breasts dry. Season them generously with salt and pepper, then set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil, then toss in garlic powder and onion powder, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until fragrant.
  3. In your slow cooker, layer the sautéed garlic and onions. Place the seasoned chicken breasts on top, pour barbecue sauce and chicken broth over the chicken.
  4. Cover the crockpot and set to low heat for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours, until chicken is tender.
  5. Carefully remove the chicken from the crockpot, shred it using forks, and return it to the sauce.
